Though we could always use some inspirational news, we’re tabling goodpurpose goodies this week in favor of a few simple ways to help alleviate the famine in the Horn of Africa. The UN has declared the drought the worst in decades. “Every day of delay in assistance is literally a matter of life or death for children and their families in the famine-affected areas,” said Mark Bowden, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia.
Below are just a few simple ways to help; of course, a quick Google search will yield many more. We encourage readers to donate to trusted organizations, but also to investigate newer, niche organizations– like One Acre Fund (below)– that may offer sustainable, long-term solutions to the crisis.
